2017 Eric Anthony Donnybrook Shiraz
VINTAGE & VINEYARD:
Sourced from old vine, low yielding Shiraz from Donnybrook in Western Australia
This Shiraz was hand-picked, destemmed to a small batch, open fermenter for 12 days on skins utilising a combination of hand plunging and pump-overs. The juice was drained off, pre-fermentation to concentrate the skins to juice ratio, resulting in a dense and generous wine. Pressed to barrel for 18 months maturation in a combination of 50% new Canton American oak and 50% second use French oak hogsheads.
Bottled unfined and unfiltered so some natural sedimentation may occur.
Fragrant aromatics, fleshy black fruits and stewed plum mid-palate with a hint of spice.
